As Aqua-Tots expands beyond 200 locations worldwide, brand compliance becomes the central challenge. Franchise owners have growing local needs, and when the approved asset library cannot meet them, owners improvise off-brand. The brand needed a deeper, more flexible visual system that kept owners consistent by giving them more to work with, not more rules to follow.
Solutions
Consistent brand presentation can increase revenue by up to 33% (Lucidpress), which makes compliance a financial issue, not a cosmetic one. The problem is that owners are motivated to go off-brand when it seems like the easier option. The solution expanded the system instead of tightening it. A full motion design system, an elevated illustration style, a 30+ animated icon library, and interactive in-school assets were built for non-designers to deploy without breaking brand standards.

A new elevated illustration style revitalized Aqua-Tots' existing swim level characters. The style anchors an educational children's book and an interactive swim journey wall graphic, both built to improve the in-school experience for children and parents alike.
